This piece was fun and challenging because it had been a while since incorporating a developed background and complete scene. It was also the first time I used myself as the model since my art classes as a kid. As opposed to being a moment before significant change, this painting is about the quiet serenity of everyday life. The simple satisfaction of sitting on the floor and at last placing the final pieces of a puzzle is sometimes just enough to give us the peace we are looking for.
 
Print is hand-signed in lower right corner.
