The thought that we can work toward something for years and years all to be judged if we are good enough in mere seconds is something I think all of us experience in some capacity. The moments before a gymnast ends their routine I feel greatly captures this sentiment. Inspired by the incredible Simone Biles, she fights the turbulence of this moment as a look of fearlessness pierces through her gaze. She pauses, inhaling that last centering breath before taking a leap of faith, both literally and figuratively. And while drowning out the surrounding crowd, she raises her head high in unwavering focus in this moment before her dismount.
