Invited by an outreached hand, a Robin bird, a symbol for new beginnings, readies to escape its cage. I imagined that the bird never really knew it was trapped by this cage, and it was perhaps the only home it ever knew. Not until its door was opened did it realize there was more out there. This painting is about escaping a situation, perhaps one you didn't even know you were a victim of. An outstretched helping hand is what shows you the light, and allows you to embark on a new journey; one you never knew was out there until this moment before your breakout.
